The HGS impact
HGS Education ensures your students continue to make progress in an environment that is conducive to learning, whilst minimising disruption to the school day.
We guarantee a quality over quantity model promising to ‘Provide schools with quality’ at every opportunity.
We provide:
- Students the best chance to achieve higher grades
- Heads of House and Heads of Year a reduction in workload
- School leaders comfort to know that students are making progress
- Organised, dedicated and outstanding teachers
Outstanding supply teaching
Hiring the right supply teachers is crucial to the future success of learners, team cohesion and implementing successful improvement strategies. We are aware of rigorous improvement strategies negatively impacted by the presence of weak supply teachers.
Getting the right supply teacher is key to:
- Pupils’ learning
- Teacher workload
- Support staff workload
- Classroom culture
- Unstructured time culture
- Academy outcomes
Our partner schools' testimonials
Please can you forward on a massive thank you to the teacher who took my class today. It is so refreshing to come back to school to hear positive feedback and to see that all work has been completed, teacher judgement has been used to support weaker students and make the lesson more engaging. I have awarded recognition points to all my Year 9 students who were present today.
M. Solomon, English teacher
We started working with HGS in the Winter of 2022/23. Since then, HGS has provided us with two of the highest calibre colleagues for long term cover positions that I have ever worked with.
One member of their team joined us mid-year and embedded themselves almost overnight, taking classes across a range of year groups and specialisms; on our toughest days of cover they took multiple classes simultaneously, and with total ease, to make the school run smoothly.
The second colleague filled a vacancy in September in an area that is very tough to recruit to – we had applicants to take over the post at Easter of this year, but chose instead to give the HGS colleague a full year with us given their quality. The HGS back office and leadership teams communicate clearly and act with integrity and moral purpose in everything they do – I always feel that they are in this business to ensure young people receive the very best education when schools face staffing challenges.
Matt Eagon, Dept Head-Teacher, Bedminster Down School
We approached HGS following the resignation of a Geography teacher close to the May deadline. The HGS team spent time getting to understand the school’s context and our ambitions for its students. They suggested a highly qualified candidate to us, ensured that we were as right for him as we thought he would be for us, and helped shape the best working arrangement based on our requirements and what he could offer. Although we have not yet needed any other staff via HGS, we have discussed other possible candidates as part of succession planning. The calibre of staff available from HGS is exceptional and well beyond that of other agencies.
