Upon changing employment last year I was offered work through HGS Education. A huge amount of behind the scenes work was completed to ensure that induction ran smoothly with very little workload coming my way. All the contractual dealings and pay agreement was done by HGS with full faith in them doing the best they could for me.
My situation was unique and the school accommodated the exact suggestions and terms of my employment. I visited on a Friday and by the following Tuesday was in employment. HGS Admin is always contactable and makes contact many times per week to catch up on well being, offer Q+A or to discuss any concerns. I’ve never had any concerns or worries about how HGS has managed my employment from day 1. It’s been completely transparent and everyone knows where they stand from the off.
A life of reduced stress, significantly improved work life balance and pay in line with my experience and expertise followed. I’ve never been asked to do something outside of what was agreed and in education this is a refreshing experience.

I joined the HGS team in September. I love teaching; the classroom has always been such a happy, fun and inspirational place for me. I knew I had to try something different to balance life and work whilst still having security in my income. I joined HGS and was presented with a number of good fit options for teaching within my specialism both long and short term.
The working pattern could be as flexible as I needed it to be and I maintained my day rate at my UPS point. This was something I had been concerned about when looking at general supply … how would I pay the mortgage? I opted to work a long term contract with a school in Bristol and HGS negotiated a contract which was an excellent fit for both the school and for me. I have had just the most brilliant year. It’s a super supportive team with total transparency and a really clear goal. I go to school, teach with a smile on my face, return home to family time and I even go to the gym every night. Who knew? It’s possible!
